"I made two late afternoon visits to the marsh on Saturday & Sunday and found lots of little signs of spring breaking out everywhere. At the western end of the marsh there were lots more mammal footprints of varying sizes, activity which didn't go un-noticed by a Kestral which and carried off a vole while I was there. A Common Lizard was walking around on the wet mud right out in the middle of the marsh and there were Great Diving Beetle larvae munching on tadpoles in the new scrape. A pair of Black Caps flitted around amongst the birch trees and a shoal of white flat worms surfed through the runnels." (Steve Jones)
